Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. She also sings. She was raised by her mother, within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was felt unloved. In her 9th grade that she gained confidence following her acclaim during an audition. The experience not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her career ambition. When she was 22, she was able to graduate from in the Julliard School of New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail, were her biggest break. Her biggest break came with her performance as The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. Her fame grew by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is known as a performer and released her own single and an extended version of her play. She is also an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
