Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The group was not able to achieve major success on the scene in the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career after the band ended in 1979. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. The two albums didn't have much success, and Ford just vanished from the world of rock for a couple of years. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in the year 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, the success of her career wasn't last long and after a few years, she was absent. Re-emerging with release of "Black" from 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
